What is GoodSports?

GoodSports Stands for Fun
We believe that a childhood without joy is a tragedy.  Fun allows for community, for walls between kids, parents, coaches and translators to come crashing down.  It allows an easy avenue to learning, encouragement, confidence building and trust.  So whether it’s a perfect shot or a well-pitched water balloon, GoodSports exists to help kids have a ball!

High-Quality Sports
High-quality sports reinforce the values of good-workmanship, a sense of pride in something done well, and underlines that children are valuable enough to have the best we can give. It honors the sacrifice of donors and it models the character of a creator God whose handiwork was always called good. 

Unconditional Love
Too often, approval seems dependent on ability, standards and demonstrated skill.  When it comes to loving people, this will never do.  Through our actions and our words, we seek to come alongside our community partners to demonstrate unconditional love to one another and the people around us. 

Hope in Christ
The ultimate expression of our love is found in our desire to share with others the hope we have in a relationship with Christ.  We stand firmly against an antagonistic sharing of faith.  We are not involved in the lives of children only to make them Christians, but, rather, because we are, ourselves, Christian. The love we’ve been given through Christ compels us to be lovingly involved in the lives of others.
